Report: Browns, Ray Farmer face suspension, fine, loss of draft pick for Textgate

The Cleveland Browns and general manager Ray Farmer are facing possible sanctions from the NFL for Textgate.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, a multigame suspension, fine and loss of draft pick are all on the table as the NFL investigates whether a team executive – Farmer – texted the coaching staff during games to suggest play calls.

League rules limit the types of electronic communications that players, coaches and other team officials can use during games.

Former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, now with the Falcons, left the Browns because he felt working for them had become dysfunctional.

The NFL investigated the improper texts, and are prepared to announce sanctions within the next couple of weeks.
