On that point--the top teams every year don't have a ball movement problem so I'm not sure who she is referring to when it comes to "ball-hogging" shit talking teams. I follow the NBA very closely--currently watching Wizards-Knicks as I type this. There is a mistaken assumption when it comes to ball-hogging, there are 5 players on the floor, one of those players has better odds of scoring points on an offensive possession--who do you want taking a higher volume of shots? Still, the successful teams don't have a ball movement problem. Carmelo Anthony is a terrific player but Iso-Melo isn't going to win the Knicks a championship.

Cover shots? It depends on the news of the time, Spurs do make cover photos. Spurs don't have a lot of marketable factors but they are a high pace, high scoring team which excites the average fan. I favor slower (depending on the type of game) pace, strong defensive units -- 2003 Pistons (which the '03-'04 Spurs played terrific defense themselves)

On edit - Washington is up 25 - 17 with Carmelo Anthony scoring the last 11 points for the Knicks in a game the Wizards already won as I'm watching this game -- adding to the points I made.

Kobe didn't even play yesterday, but the offensive mindset is to have one guy isolate and clear that side. Then got pounded by the Bulls, who took the 3rd quarter off defensively. (Well, not Gasol.) So, the Bulls, who had 3 guys with more than 20 points, won by a large margin even though they didn't play their usual defensive game for an entire quarter.

Kobe does that, so when he's gone, Swaggy takes that place. There is poor ball movement and little defensive help. Henve, one team is 20 - 9 and the other is 9 - 20.
