Jesus Planning to Return for Derek Jeter’s Final Homestand

Jesus Christ, the son of God, member of the Holy Trinity, and Savior of the world, will reportedly make his triumphant return to Earth in order to see Derek Jeter’s final homestand at Yankee Stadium. They Yankees have eight games scheduled from September 18-25 between the Orioles and Blue Jays. It is not yet known which game Jesus will return for or how many games He will attend.

“It’s really cool,” said Jeter. “That’s a guy I grew up respecting, obviously, so for him to make an effort to come out and see me play, well … it’s quite an honor.”

After nearly 2000 years of sitting at the righthand of God, the homestand will be Christ’s first return to the planet. It is not yet known if He plans to set up his Kingdom on Earth or if He simply plans to take in some baseball and then head back to Heaven.

“I heard Jesus was coming, that’s all I know,” said Yankees manager Joe Girardi. “Lots of celebrities attend our games, and Christ is obviously on that level and even above. So it’s great and an honor, especially for Derek. But we’re still trying to get into the playoffs, and we need to keep our focus on the field.”

“If you’re going to come all the way down to Earth for a few days, you’re not going to go to Boston for part of it,” said Girardi.
