Manziel's possible replacement at Texas A&M arrested for public intoxication
COLLEGE STATION Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill, 19, has emulated former A&M great Johnny Manziel in a way Aggies hoped he wouldnt with an appearance on the police blotter.
College Station police arrested Hill, whos battling for the Aggies starting gig, at 2:57 a.m. Friday in the Northgate bar district on a charge of public intoxication, according to the police departments website.
The Bryan-College Station Eagle, which obtained police documentation, reported, Hill was passed out in a planter full of rocks and plants in front of the restaurant-bar (called Chimys) when officers arrived, police said in the arrest report. When asked who the current president of the United States was, Hill reportedly answered Bush, and told officers his name was Kennedy.
Hill, senior Matt Joeckel and freshman Kyle Allen are all vying to replace Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner. A&M spokesman Alan Cannon said Hill has been suspended indefinitely from the program per athletic department policy. Nearly two years ago, College Station police arrested Manziel for fighting, failing to identify himself and possessing fake licenses, all prior to his earning the starting job over Jameill Showers in August 2012. For the record, Manziel was arrested at 3:24 a.m.
