Related: About this forumJerry Jones hopes to be GM for 15-20 more years
Without a Fake Jerry this week, the Real Jerry substitutes nicely:
Jerry Jones made it clear Friday that he plans on being the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager for the foreseeable future.
What is his motivation? Well, the man with the 40-year-old brain says hes been doing some of his best work.
The facts are, I really do think that the way that things have rolled out, that Im getting to do some of the best work that Ive done, relatively speaking, in my career, these last several years, Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM].
And he didnt stop there. Jones, 71, then confirmed that he envisions running the Cowboys for the next 15-20 years.
One of the reasons that I, to some degree, have taken the risks that I have over the years and kind of had the professional life that I followed is so that I get to decide when enough is enough, God willing, Jones said. So I do get to decide that. Its a certain part of working for yourself if you still are standing when the time comes. So I get to really make that decision, and I want to make it in a way that I think is in the best interest of the team, franchise and really our fans....

(21,812 posts)4. Yeah, JJones thinks he's bigger than the game.
As long as he has a death-grip on that franchise as a GM instead of being just an owner, that team will never contend for, much less win, a Super Bowl.

They could do it at 8-8. Won't win a playoff game, though.
