J’accuse! Cowboys claim Giants faked injuries on Sunday night

Fakers! Fakers! If this was a playground, that’s what the Cowboys would be shouting while pointing at Big Blue’s sideline.

It was the second quarter on Sunday’s game and the Cowboys offense was clicking. Jason Witten caught a pass for a first down and Dallas hurried to the line of scrimmage to run another play. Suddenly, Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins collapsed to the turf, claiming to be hurt.

Witten immediately ran to the referee, saying “He’s faking!” repeatedly, but to no avail. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones noticed what was going on from all the way up in the (luxurious) owner’s box.

“I thought us experts on football were the only ones who could see that,” Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I didn’t know everybody could. It was so obvious it was funny. It wasn’t humorous because we really wanted the advantage and knew we could get it if we could get the ball snapped.”

1. It did seem kind of odd. But it was pretty much meaningless as the Ginats had turnoveritis.
