Bud Selig's rimming of the Skankees Continues

Boston Red Sox starter Ryan Dempster received a five-game suspension and undisclosed fine for intentionally hitting the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez, Major League Baseball senior vice president Joe Garagiola Jr. announced Tuesday.

Dempster threw one pitch behind A-Rod's knees on Sunday night and two more inside at Fenway Park. Then his 3-0 pitch struck Rodriguez's left elbow pad and ricocheted off his back.

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who also received an undisclosed fine for his argument with umpire Brian O'Nora, said Tuesday before his team's doubleheader against Toronto that Dempster needed to be suspended or it would be "open season" on Rodriguez.

"You just can't throw at someone because you don't like him or disagree with the way something's being handled," Girardi said. "If a player is suspended for throwing at someone, they're going to get their appeal. Are we going to throw that out, too? So, I mean, this is what's been negotiated."

5 games? Give me a fucking break...I assumed he'd be suspended, but just goes to show you what a POS Selig is...let's have a little consistency, ok?

Unless it's to the head, then they come down hard.

Besides, Dempster only did what the entire Skankee front office wanted to do.

don't end up missing a start. The only way for it to be any sort of penalty is to suspend them for 5. As much as I don't like the douchenozzle (A-Roid), it's what I expected and it's appropriate.

Dempster MIGHT have been able to get away with it if he hit him on the first try, but if you throw at a guy a couple of times you can't argue it's an accident, and if it's intentional, the league HAS to do something.

The old my team can do no wrong shit.

You know Joey...every team has a skeleton... but not every team has a hidden video recorder.

thus missing, essentially, two starts.

As it is, one missed start is hardly going to hurt the Sox, I think, at this point. The team is rolling.

BTW, you could suggest that any team in 1972 was homophobic and be right. Just about everyone in 1972 was homophobic.
