It should be "Fight of the Year" and "Knockout of the Year." And that single punch will be on the list of most devastating of all-time.

I can't believe that Manny walked right into it like that.

Best punch of the year equals worse defense of the year.

started, my son and I always make our predictions. He said Marquez by decision; I said Pac Man would stop him in six.

It was clear after the 5th, that this one wasn't going the decision. And it appeared that Manny was landing the more punishing blows. Still, during round six, when Roy Jones said that Marquez could no longer land the hard right, as he did in the third, I voiced strong disagreement. After the bout, Roy correctly noted that (and not long after that statement) Marquez attempted to catch Manny with the same shot. It missed, and Pac Man's intensity picked up.

Second time, it didn't miss. Interestingly, it happened in the exact spot where in the fight before, Gamboa had put a hurt opponent on the ropes, and attempted to score a knockout; in that case, a counter left-cross knocked the talented Cuban down, hurting him seriously.

I'm curious what the results of the c-scan were last night? It was evident in the post-fight interviews that Manny was still in that gray area -- between conscious and out cold -- that suggests possible serious damage.

dressing rooms before the fight. And he & Ann met lots of folks at ringside, including co-promoter 50 Cent (moments after he performed a rather curious song that I'm sure wasn't the type of music/lyrics the Romneys approve of).

Mitt was as out of place there as a tree frog in a movie about dinosaurs.
