and it's not even going to be close. He is the best freshman I've ever seen, and that includes two studs I saw play in person many times -- Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker. Never dreamed that kid could do what he did in the SEC that is overflowing with future NFL talent and by far the best conference in college football.

If you tried to tell an NFL coach the Big 12-2 was better than the SEC he would laugh in your face.

6 of BCS Top 10 from SEC

6 straight NC's from SEC

SEC sends the most players to the NFL

SEC beat the Big 12-2 is last 4 Cotton Bowls

SEC beat the Big 12-2 (OK & Texas) when they played in recent NC games

4004 passing yards this year, with a 71 completion percentage. Forty touchdowns and only 6 interceptions.

If the WVU team was undefeated (or close to it), he would be the leading candidate. The Heisman trophy is not for the best player in college football; it is for the leading player on one of the winningest teams.

Bitter, much? No, not me!!

expect to see more gaudy numbers with little recognition in the future, too.

Sets the touchdown record and is an overall beast but gets no love.

That said, I hope the linebacker gets it. Defense needs some love.

And of course, ESPN has been promoting "Johnny Football" for the past several weeks.

Remember, sportwriters vote for this...experts...like the experts who said Detroit in 5.

If college football ever needed a Hero, it's now. Let Johnny Football carry the ball into the brave new world of no contact football in the 21st century.
