(12,336 posts)He won the Heisman and he is a great self promoter. I am an avid Packers fan (owner) and I'm not sure that Hornung belongs in the pro football HoF. Karras played at Iowa in the 50's, around the time I was born, and had a great career there.
I do not know this to be true, but legend has it that his first wife was originally from Clinton, IA and while in college, Karras would often walk and/or jog from Iowa City to Clinton to see her. That is a pretty good distance. If true, it's no wonder he was in good physical shape.
