I'm tired of this. I grew up hating the Pirates. When I was a kid, I loathed them, because they were good, and I was surrounded by Pirate fans. It seemed like every year, it was the Pirates that were the Reds biggest playoff threat. I'm talking about the seventies, of course, although the Reds played them again in 1990. The thing is, I'm still surrounded by Pirate fans, but it is nearly impossible to hate that team now.

I honestly wish that the Pirates would get good again. I have many members of my family that just love them, and I actually feel bad for them. Of course, until recently, the Reds have stunk it up pretty good, too, but not like the Pirates. Plus, hating the Pirates isn't any fun anymore.

I want the Pirates to get good again so I can resume my hatred of them. I want to spar with my family and friends again. The streak was fun for awhile, but it is getting old.

I grew up hating the Reds. When I was a kid, I loathed them because they were good and I was surrounded by douchebag Reds fans. I really hated the whole big red machine thing in the mid 70's.

My Dad specifically retired to western PA, so that he could watch the Pirates every day.

Here's to the Reds and Pirates dominating the Central for the next twenty years. That way, we can start hating each other again.

to go from 63-47 and a playoff spot Aug. 8th, to the precipice of another losing season. It's a collapse of historic proportions...
