Related: About this forumWhitlock: Thursday NFL far worse than bounties
I know some of you here are not exactly huge Whitlock fans, but read it anyway.
http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/sports-nfl/20120914/Whitlock-Thursday-NFL-Worse-Than-Bounties/
What is more dangerous a symbolic, thousand-dollar bounty system or the Baltimore Ravens opening the season playing four NFL games in 17 days?...
Its going to take death, a serious injury or a lawsuit to stop the NFLs desire to televise live games seven days a week, six months a year. If a team can play four games in 17 days, why cant teams play an 18-game regular season?
But Gregg Williams is evil because he instructed his defensive players to attack the head. Really? Whats more dangerous, deeds or tough talk, a brutal schedule or a bounty system that rewards you for what you were going to do anyway?
The vilification of the Saints and Goodells hypocrisy infuriate me. Thursday night football endangers the health of far more NFL players than some flimsy bounty system Vilma participated in.

Does he have an enormous Adam's apple? Has he committed voter fraud?

(29,322 posts)2. That actually is a good point
regarding the Ravens having 4 games in 17 days. Can't be good for player safety.

(6,279 posts)4. As I've said before...
Combine the Thursday games with bye weeks so no team plays on less than 6 or 7 days' rest and they might not be a bad thing. But it's just bad for players, bad for competitive balance, and bad for fans to schedule Thursday games as if they were Sunday games.

add in extra bye weeks.
