Insensé à Roland Garros (SPOILER alert)

This is why I LUV the French Open....The matches (except when Rafa is playing) tend to be so much more interesting:

Roger Federer falls behind two sets before winning in five;

Novak Djokovic fights off four match points to force a fifth.

I really thought he'd won it in the 4th, but it wasn't to be. Dommage.

Sorry he didn't win...saw a couple of his matches this tournament and he was really playing well.

As for Roger, he's the reason I stopped watching...I was sure he was out as he had not been playing well all tournament.

I actually think Errani has a good shot...I saw her match against Ana I, and clearly Ana has the better game, but Errani was patient and was playing like she could stay on the court all day...a great quality if you want to win on clay.

Sharapova was looking great, but she hadn't really played anyone. And if the woman she played yesterday (can't remember her name) had anything resembling a decent serve, Maria would've been crossing the English Channel already.

Errani is tough. Stosur looks pretty good, and watch out for Petra Kvitova. You never know what you're going to get with her, but she can blast anyone off the court if she's on like yesterday.

She is so unpredictable. I think last year Maria was winning a lot right before the French and people thought she'd win it all...she might but on the women's side more often than not it's someone you don't think will win who pulls it out.

but older women do well there. Stosur has been a finalist in the French before and I could see her winning it.

gonna be watching Rafa tomorrow if possible. A dream for many Federer fans is to watch him beat both Djoker and Rafa at the French - then he is the undisputed champ. Maybe "pipe-dream" would be the correct terminology however.

Nicolas gave the roider a good first set, that was it...as usual, Andy flames out earlier than he should...on the women's side Maria looked good, and Petra really stormed back...theirs should be a good match. Raf-roid will beat Ferrer easily, although it would be fantastic if David won.

....... was a bad omen for that set.

David Ferrer is a tough cookie on clay, until he plays Rafa, of course.

Had he gotten through...big serve, big forehand...I could see each set going to a tiebreak had he been on...problem with Almagro and next Ferrer is that they play the same game as Nadal (close enough) and they let Nadal get into a rhythm...get him out of it is the best shot because he loses it...yell when he bounces the ball 20 times before serving...you'll be assessed a point, but it'll unnnerve him.

Against Errani. I was hoping for a Stosur win, but whatever.

On the positive side, although I don't like Sharapova (or really any of the Bolletteiri clones), at least Maria will be the first #1 ranked player in maybe 5 years whose ranking feels legitimate to me. She's been very consistent for the past year.

He started slow every match...could pretty much do that against everyone except Djoker and Raf-roid...he's still clearly the third best in tennis, but I think he'll need someone to knock off one of those 2 early so he doesn't have to play both to win Wimbledom.
