I had that great Eagle toy and even a 78 record album with audio short stories.

But I recently got the dvd's from Netflix and I couldn't sit through a single episode.

I am curious as to how they'll imagine it though.

Everything from the way it looked to the the explanation of unbelievable weirdness as "Dude... it's outer space".

On a side not, I'd been wondering for several years if they were ever going to try and re-launch this franchise. For the title my money was on Moonbase Alpha.

Another of the Andersons' offering from the same time period which makes Space 1999 look like Shakespeare is UFO. It was a pretty decent premise, but very poorly executed with acting on par with the marionettes on Thunderbirds (Which the Andersons also produced) and the stories which were usually bad. The best part about it today is to see how people in 1969 envisioned the far-flung year 1980: Electric cars, moon bases, real-life Thunderbird vehicles, and futuristic one-piece polyester suits.
