Former 'Superman' Dean Cain & Previous 'Supergirl' Helen Slater To 'Supergirl' Pilot
He played "Superman," and now, Dean Cain is headed to "Supergirl."
The actor has been cast in a mystery role in the pilot for CBS, Access Hollywood has learned. Dean previously played the Man of Steel aka cousin of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El -- in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," in the 1990s.
And, Helen Slater, who actually played "Supergirl" in the big screen film, has also joined the franchise in a mystery role. Helen previously appeared on "Smallville" as Lara El, Superman's mom.
The castings of Dean and Helen should come as no surprise for fans of shows from Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. Their CW show "The Flash" has John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash on TV previously, as the dad of Barry Allen. They also recently cast Mark Hamil on "The Flash" as The Trickster, a role he played on the original "The Flash."
