THE NEW DEAL - A Modern History by Michael Hiltzik
Great book that researches the actions of FDR's Brain Trust and the way they instituted the New deal and rebooted the social contract of a nation.
Hiltzik is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer and I read this after reading his book COLOSSUS about the building of the Hoover Dam.
I would recommend both books with two thumbs up.
Hiltzik is also a reporter and columnist for the LA Times and a very left leaning person.
