What are you reading the week of Sunday, April 26, 2015?
Hello, all!
More Constable Evan Evans this past week. I finished #s 6, 7, 9, & 10 (out of 10) - unfortunately, #8 didn't make it into the library until Friday, and I didn't have time to pick it up since I had to work late.
On the other hand - HOORAY! - two of my longstanding holds finally showed up this week! Blood on Snow by Jo Nesbø (Norway), and Reykjavik Nights by Arnaldur Indriðason (Iceland). So, it's back to Scandinavia for me!
On a separate note, I won't be around next Sunday to do the weekly reading thread, so I hope someone else will be able to pick up the slack. I'll let the other two hosts know I'm going to be gone, so hopefully one of them will take care of unpinning the old thread and pinning the new one.

I read Two Old Women a few months ago. It's a very interesting look at pre-European contact Alaska Athabascan culture. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
I'm delighted to hear that Mrs. E is liking At Play In the Fields of the Lord!
I'm really looking forward to starting Arnaldur's Reykjavik Nights, which is a prequel in the Erlandur series, taking place when he's just starting out as a detective. I've deliberately avoided reading any reviews about it, I want it to be a surprise. 
My dad and I are leaving on Wednesday to fly out to Seattle, where my son and his wife live.
I lived in the San Juan Islands - first Lopez, then Orcas - for about a year, back in 1986-87. I'll make sure we ALL dress warm for the ferry!
Slow start, but it got better. I should be finished today or tomorrow. It's about a small-town hockey team and the secrets hidden by its coach.
Also, "The Soul of Discretion," by Susan Hill. It's about Det. Simon Serailler and how he breaks up a pedophile ring. Very scary and grim, as you may expect.
out that the book had been made into a film, starring the mighty Morgan Freeman, Robert Redford, Jennifer Lopez. Will have to see if I can find it on Netflix. BTW, I really like this Mark Spragg, and look forward to reading more of his work.
Last night, I downloaded Toni Morrison's latest work, God Help the Child. As usual, I love how she uses language, but am not sure where this story is going. Terri Gross had a short interview with her on Fresh Air, so I have an idea what it is about, but right now I'm a bit lost.
