*** Public Service Announcement ***

I attended a political event, yesterday. It was attended by African-American Democrats ... supporters of Bernie and HRC.

We all had a good time. There was no rushing the dais, no calling of officials "bitches" or "whores", no death threats or calls to violence, no chair or bottle throwing.

Arizona is a crazy place ... But, it confirmed that Arizona Democrats are better than what occurred in Nevada.

Or, maybe, it's just ... well ... never-mind ...

really never had a problem until this year. They just hated the Democrats and what ever came out of the mouth of their leaders was like it came from the mountain top engraved in tablets. That is why the Democrats have always been about change for the better, our party has so many different viewpoints and peoples that it takes a while to come to a consensus.

we are all working our butts off to get Dems elected in November. Working TOGETHER. This is why it is difficult for me to believe this highly disruptive group using vulgarity and violence are REAL Sanders supporters. They sound like the exact same type of operatives sent in to divide the left and Dems the GOP has relied on for decades. Remember union 'violence' that turned out to be started by disruptors? VVAW being infiltrated by new members urging 'violent' actions? The many Rand Paul bots posing as lefties and posting here at DU over the years?

We all hang out and believe in the same liberal philosophy. The only difference politically between us is that we Sanders people believe in more hasty action, whereas the Clinton peeps seem to be more pragmatic. No animosity at all.

Im a white guy with cystic fibrosis, preventing me from working more than around 3 hours a day. I rely on disability and expanded Medicaid from the ACA. I don't have the privilege of pouting and being a "Bernie or Bust" person. I might not survive if Trump were to gut the ACA.

So any Bernie peeps who are planning to not vote for Hill in the GE, remember this: Some minorities, women, the disabled, and the poor may not survive a Trump presidency. Please be empathetic to us.

Not all of us Sanders supporters fit the cookie cutter image that some Sanders group thinkers here at DU wish to impose on the rest of us. If we are longtime Democrats and support the Dem party and Sanders, then we are labeled as 'suspect' or Hillary-trolls pretending to be Sanders supporters. Incredibly narrow-minded and detrimental to the overall cause. IMO, they are the ones not really listening to Sanders.

a little relief and rebalancing. This has been overall a lovely, reassuring thread. I remind myself constantly that GD-P isn't real, and neither is the media coverage, that a large majority of Democratic voters will be glad to be able to vote for a Democrat for president, and still more just will no matter what, but this thread makes me feel once again that that is of course simple reality.

about what to do until consensus was reached. Everyone had their own idea they were pushing, their own goals they wanted to reach. At some time it all came together. That was just how it worked with liberal free thinkers back then.

Now when the conservatives decided to protest something, the head of the group just said This is what we are doing. And away thy went.

If you had 2 rooms planning some event, and one you could hear people talking and the other sounded like the final fight scene from Blazing Saddles, you knew which room the Democrats were in.

Once the planning was agreed to though the Democrats would walk though fire and police and everything to achieve their goal, the conservatives, they had a tendency to kind of scatter when something came up.

And none of the liberal organizing meeting I go to are like what you describe except the freakin' local Democratic Party. I stopped going to those because who has time for that bullshit? But we walk through some fire too, just without the drama.

are those who have nothing or very little to lose in the election. Many of us are very concerned about how people would survive a Trump presidency, and therefore are committed to doing everything positive we can to elect dems from the WH all the way down the ticket. I always thought that was what we were supposed to do.

I am glad that you got to spend some time outside the DU bubble meeting real voters who understand the real issues.
