I didn't know that much about him until I read the link. Wow, what a life of an unsung hero.

Funny story. Back in the day, my best friend and our boyfriends went to one of Mr. Paul's concert. Finally, it was time to hear what we came to hear, "Me and Mrs. Jones." Oh, my goodness, Billy Paul talked for almost 15 minutes or more setting the song up about the affair. We kept giving each other looks, like when is he going to sing???

Finally, someone in the audience yelled, "Please, I beg you, just sing." Everyone erupted into laughter and so did he. He said something like, You know I love this song. And then he sang his heart out and got the standing ovation he so deserved.

I'm just glad that he lived a long life
