(24,544 posts)I've been sitting here watching every single video tribute. And they keep playing stuff that I haven't heard, forgot about and it just brings alllllll of these memories back.
They played "Get Off" a few minutes ago and I was back in undergrad just like that.

(11,833 posts)I can't listen just yet. I have plenty of time to celebrate his music. Right now I'm avoiding it all. I will get back to it when I'm ready.

(11,833 posts)Every song brings back so many memories.
That one, a friend and I would sing the part that goes '23 po - sitions in a one night stand...' Haha!
Oh, another fave of mine: Alphabet Street. The extended version with Cat singing. 'Cat! I need you to rock!'
All those amazing songs. Damn. I refuse to get too down about it (I'm still in shock too). I can't listen to people talking about the cause of death. I truly don't think of him that way. The joy in his music will live eternally.

(11,243 posts)just FYI for those who don't want to purchase the entire discography, but want a good sampler of both hits and deep cuts that span a good bit of Prince's career.
It is interesting which songs set me off too. Raspberry Beret, which I never even liked that much and is just a silly, fun pop song made me LOSE it.
