Chloe Goins Drops Lawsuit Against Bill Cosby

Chloe Goins has dropped her civil lawsuit against embattled comedian Bill Cosby.

According to paperwork obtained by ABC News, Goins, a model, voluntarily dropped the suit, filed last October, without explanation on Tuesday.

Lawyers for Goins and Cosby have not yet commented on this development.

In the lawsuit, Goins alleged that when she was about 17, Cosby invited her to the Playboy mansion, gave her a drink that made her dizzy and took her into a bedroom where, she said, she passed out. She claimed that when she awoke, her clothes had been removed and Cosby was biting her toes.

Through his attorneys, Cosby previously denied the allegations and said he was not at the party at the Playboy mansion when the alleged incident occurred. Cosby has also repeatedly denied, through his legal team, sexual allegations from dozens of other women.

Because of the possibility that Goins’ allegations may have fallen within the California criminal statute of limitations, her claims were investigated by cops and prosecutors in Los Angeles, but no charges were filed. Prosecutors were unable to corroborate her story.

I grew up with Bill Cosby comedy albums, before there was Fat Albert on TV (I'm dating myself.) He was the CLEAN comedian that it was okay for me to listen to. I memorized some of his skits and could recite them back to my friends. Like Niagara Falls, and Tonsillitis. So, my love for Cosby predates the Cosby Show, pre-dates Jello commercials, pre-dates his show with Robert Culp... it is deep within me, a core part of my existence.

And finding out that he was a Lecherous Bastard is killing me.

It is like when I found out that Dr. King slept around.

Male sexuality, from what my dad taught me, is a core facet of their existence. Sex is something men think about a LOT, sex is something men go after in crazy ways. What Cosby did is UNFORGIVABLE, but somehow, I find myself acknowledging, or having to acknowledge, that he is a sexual being. Something I didn't even know about when I heard his albums, as a 5 year old.

So yes, he's going to go to jail. And it's going to be ugly. Sometimes, a person can be two things at once. A great comedian, and a rapist.

It just hurts.

When I think about Bill Cosby I think about 'I Spy'...'Fat Albert' (hey, hey, hey, I love to play tackle) ...The Bill Cosby Show a.k.a. Chet Kinkade, the physical education instructor. And of course, Bill Cosby Himself (1983).

I remember Richard Pryor trying to emulate Bill Cosby's clean style of humor until he found his own voice.

I wondered if Bills actions were part of the scene back then in the 70's and 80's when people were popping pills all the time, especially among the Hollywood crowd. I would hear about it on the news all the time - you know, sex, drugs and rock and roll, Hugh Hefner's 'Playboy After Dark'. (I'm not looking for any excuses for Bill).

It's just so, so sad to see him go down like this.
