Is anyone else worried about Trump?

We like to believe that he's unelectable. But I think we are underestimating the level of hatred/fear some white Christian people have for blacks, Latinos and Muslims. And how much some men hate Hillary, if she wins.

This situation is making me very uncomfortable.

...that our nation's new motto should be, "Trump: The President We Deserve."

In other words, if America has become so depraved and so dumb, that this is the President that we deserve.

I know none of us would deserve it. However, there is a faction of ignorant, racist, stupid goons, in America who are amped up on right-wing radio and Fox News. Problem is...the vote in very high numbers.

These people are not the majority. They are 1/4 of the Republican party. However, if the rest of us don't vote, don't pay attention or don't get involved--then we will deserve Trump.

He's disgusting. I always knew he was a narcissist. But he's beyond that. Wanting to "register" all Muslims, crowing about bringing back waterboarding, building a fence. There's no doubt that History would repeat itself. He's Hitleresque. And I don't say that lightly.

I've seen so many comments on FB and in article comment sections from right-wing nut jobs. They want all of the Muslims rounded up and killed. They believe that they all want to "kill the infidels" and destroy our country and install a caliphate in America. They are nuts.

And if Donald Trump is elected...it will be a sad day in hell. Literally.

I have a few Latino and female friends who have been Democrats since I've know them (10-15 years) and who love Trump. Two have volunteered with the Trump campaign and gone to see him speak.

In real-life discussions (which I've had many), only one person likes Hillary and lots of women hater her and none will vote for Bernie. That's from a pretty wide variety of people - kids' school/sports/friends parents, work, neighborhood get-togethers, dinner with friends. Plenty of people hate Trump too but their hatred seems to be easing up. I am in a red state and mostly red neighborhood/school so "wide variety" is a matter of my perspective not based on national norms. It does include a number of Ds (25-30% based on yard signs). But none of them have a problem with the transgender individual or gay couples in the neighborhood - so the D's see many R's who don't care about social issues and don't see those as an issue. None I've heard will be voting for or against a candidate based on social issues - it's jobs and national security.

If many Ds like Trump, and many other Ds don't like Hillary or Bernie that will do more damage than Trump's appeal to white Christian males. If Ds stick together the white Christian males won't be a problem. From the discussions on DU that's where I see the problem (Ds sticking together).

If he was stupid, he wouldn't be a billionaire.

He's a billionaire, and he doesn't give a flying fuck what people on the left think of him, and he says whatever he wants, and it's stirring up the masses, and it will drive them to the polls. I have to count on the Independents to reject him, and they are a fickle crowd. If the Bernie-folks hate Hillary enough, they will stay home.

The more I think about it, the more worried I become.

Nope. He doesn't give a flying fuck what any decent person thinks of him. Which makes him incredibly dangerous.

Just the mere THOUGHT of that man in the White House.... I can't sleep. I literally cannot sleep.

That is actually a question with relevance to both sides of the campaign right now.

I know what you mean though. I think Trump is playing in dangerous waters--the ugly underside of white disatisfaction found a leader. He doesn't really say anything, but he plays on emotions and talks to crowds like he's talking to people he's known for years. They eat it up.

I was watching a show last night talking about his riling a crowd to beat up and throw out the Black protesters. They focused on how Trump repeated "Get him out of here" over and over, even though the protester had been removed--he kept saying it because it made the crowd go wild every time.

For the first time in probably a loooooong time, those folks had been given clear permission to go beat up a Negro. And they obviously loved it and missed it. Probably felt like old times.

And my greatest hope is he pulls a third party run on the right.

Or - that as I've seen from a few Sanders supporters - the theory that Bill Clinton put him up to it.
