Black Lives Matter protestors shot near Minneapolis police station

Three masked men opened fire on Black Lives Matter activists late Monday night not far from Minneapolis’ 4th Precinct police station. Approximately 200 protesters have maintained a presence at the police station since November 15th, after the police shooting death last week of 24-year old Jamar Clark. Witnesses say Clark, who was alleging interfering with paramedics who had been called to assist his girlfriend, was restrained with handcuffs when he was shot. The name of the officer involved in the shooting has not been released. Neither have videos that activists and community members say may have captured the shooting.

Police have told media that five people were shot; however, organizers with Black Lives Matter-Minneapolis say they have only heard that the number was four. None of the victims’ injuries are life-threatening.

Two of the protesters, Jie Wronski-Riley and Oluchi Omeoga, told Daily Kos what they saw.

Wronski-Riley says: “[The protesters] discovered some white supremacists in the crowd trying to start stuff, and as we were trying to escort them out of the community space, they turned around as they were running away and shot at us.” Wronski-Riley told Daily Kos that the protesters followed the men about a half block away from the encampment but stopped because “[we knew] that they were trying to set us up and isolate us,” and that four members of the group continued to follow the men and that’s when the shooting started. “… it was so loud but I thought it was fire crackers, and I was like ‘surely they’re not shooting at us, they’re not shooting at actual people.

The white supremacists, that is. It angers them to no end that black people are standing up for themselves and not submitting to their WHITE "authority." And unfortunately for decent, justice-loving people everywhere, the racists have plenty of apologists (if not outright supporters) in the media, in politics, and in America's white-dominated institutions who all serve to legitimize their hatred.

I fear that what happened in Minneapolis is just a taste of what is to come, the proverbial tip of the iceberg. I am thankful that no one was killed in this particular incident of violence, but, between the Charleston massacre and countless murders by police, the war on black lives continues on a daily basis. I really do fear that there is more to come in that regard.

dollars in weapons? I hear it all the time. It is because "of the pending race war and all the blacks rioting". They have it so ingrained in their mindset they can't escape it. I looked once to see when the sale of handguns took off. It was after the Watts riots. They believe the blacks can not help it, they have to riot. And when it doesn't happen, the white supremacists or the police try their best to provoke it.

MLK had it pegged years ago. Just be peaceful, don't provoke anyone, just lay down peacefully and obey the police. It works everytime and it is something that the white supremacists and the police just can not deal with mentally.

They want the riots so they can go out and put on their army dress up clothes and their army guns and play army in the streets.

Argo Guthrie in Alice's Restaurant said it best about heir mindset:

"Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill, KILL, KILL."

out somehow, I feel much better.

It is hard to do, usually only happens when down with a cold or on vacation.

I believe what George Carlin told us, that these people don't care about us and they have already bought everything.

I want to live for many reasons, one of them is to see climate change impact deniers, I will get satisfaction from that.

But I was going to the gym 3 times a week and now the blood pressure sits around 100/70 and a resting heart rate of 45. But I still take the meds but I have to cut them in half or otherwise I pass out if I get up too quickly.

My respiratory doc can't figure out why I am not in the hospital having Asthma an allergic to everything around me, my cats and dog and all the plants and trees around me. She can not even understand why I am breathing. My cardiologist just finally told me just do what you want and call me if you pass out.

So I guess I am doing ok for a 67 year old. 175 and 11% body fat.

mitrial valve regurgitation. The valve problem causes me the most problem as I can't get the blood oxygenated well enough exerting myself.

But as far as stress, I really do have much. Just laugh it off most of the time. Politics do not bother me at all. Not much I can do about any of it besides voting and laughing at the crazy stuff going on. And I do laugh at all the comments pro/con all the time. I even get along with bravenak.
