Ever notice how all of the celebrating over Sanders' black support is around people that nobody has ever heard of or don't want to have heard of (Cornell)??

There were 477 threads in GD when a person named Nina Turner unendorsed Hillary to endorse Sanders. Amid all the rapture and hallelujiahs!!one! from the converted somebody finally asked who she was and I was glad 'cause I had no idea either.

Apparently she was a former state Senator from Ohio. But the way these folks were carrying the fuck on you would have thought it was Michelle Obama endorsing Sanders. I have no doubt Ms. Turner has done some great work in Ohio but the screaming of her endorsement was about 1000 times heavier than the weight of the endorsement itself. It was kind of desperate and pitiful.

it was a great endorsement and he deserves credit.

but i agree with the reaction coming off as desperate and pitiful. so even something that is positive for him is turned into something sad and embarrassing by his so called "supporters".

and just now the lectures about mlk from the one who refers to blacks and gays as having stockholm are starting up again.

reaction to it. The desperate shrillness of the "celebrations" was incredibly obvious and embarrassing.

Yep. The MLK lectures continue as do the CONSTANT stream of posts about black people from people who are not only NOT black but ones that the handful of black people who post here wouldn't give the time of day to. It's hysterical.

Yeah, there is definitely an Ice Cube sound going on there. Like if Ice Cube had a slight Southern accent. He's not bad.

I only listened to the first track but it didn't sound all that political. I don't think he'll be giving PE or BDP a run for their money in the political sense. And I don't think he'll be giving Outkast a run for their money in the super popular Atlanta rappers sense. But he was all right. Thanks for posting that, zap.

and I don't know who Killer Mike is but I'm soooo old school hip-hop that I remember its birth. So I'm not sure of his importance at all. I've read about 6 articles, mostly circulated from AJC, but could only find 2 AAs talking about this from the practically all white attendees. It would be great to know what Dr. Bernice King thought but only one article said she refused to comment after her private meeting with Sanders. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during that talk!

I'm sure she'll meet with HRC who'll give the keynote speech at the 2-day event to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott next week. But kind of feel right now she may not comment since I can't find her politics anywhere except she's a conservative and a protestor against gay and lesbian marriage. Whew, interesting legacy given her mom felt gay rights was part of her husband's dream.

Me too! And most of the new stuff I just have no interest in. God, we sound soooo old. And I've got like 5 gray hairs.

Zappaman posted some of Killer Mike's music upthread. I've never heard of this brother and having heard what I just heard just makes me want to get in my car and play some Tribe Called Quest and ride off into the sunset. All of the artists I was unintentionally comparing Killer Mike to were old school, CLASSIC old school. From what I just heard, the brother sounds all right but he won't be taking any space in my CD (yes girl, CD!) cabinet or Ipad any time soon.

my head. I'm deciding whether to fight it by dyeing it the natural dark brown. Or get it over with it with silver dye because of some really exquisite colors on women of all ages I'm seeing IRL. Just a few below but the first one is what my fro is looking like.

Life is a trip indeed. I always wondered if I'd still be jamming to hip-hop so many years ago and here I am. Where did the time go?

Thanks, I'll give Killer Mike a listen tonight! Cool!

because they look so young since blacks and others with dark skin tend to age very slowly.
