Oregon AG ‘outraged’ by DOJ search of #BlackLivesMatter

I heard this story on NPR on the way home in the car about an hour ago. Not the exact story because it sounded like local law enforcement doing this but the article I can find to start this off cites DOJ as being part of the story,

Salem, Ore. – Oregon’s Attorney General says she is “outraged” by a recent Department of Justice search of people who tweeted using the hashtag #blacklivesmatter, including Erious Johnson, the DOJ’s Director of Civil Rights.

As first reported by the Willamette Week, eight Oregon civil rights and labor union leaders wrote a sharply worded letter to Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, calling the search racially motivated and potentially unlawful. The first signature is from Johnson's wife, Nkenge Harmon Johnson, who heads the Urban League of Portland.

The letter called for an immediate halt to surveillance of the Black Lives Matter hashtag and related topics, and an independent audit of the Oregon DOJ.

It's from 2008 . . . It's about MLK and the FBI tracking his every move.

Whenever black folks try to stand up for ourselves this happens.

BLM is to 2015 what MLK was to the 60's, I truly believe this movement will be that important.
