Hillary means BLACK people will have to die in a war somewhere.

So I am confused.

Maybe we could have a forum here: "Let us white folks tell you how it is"

And before that and before that... for generations back. The paranoia is what sustains them. The last time it was considered a "crisis" was over 20 years ago (I think I still have this issue somewhere) -

It was WONDERFUL.

As I noted in another thread, I was away from DU for a whole week and heard not a peep about Bernie Sanders anywhere. Not one single peep.

was happening, otherwise I was about to start bugging the other moderators by PMs this week.

Yeah, I can't get too invested in the primaries because I do think it's all rigged. Keeping up with what international and local papers are saying, I find little on the candidates. I mean I have to dig for it, so I agree it's easy not to hear a peep And that is Wonderful!
The news is more on activism - blm, wage increase, and people fighting for the disabled I've seen more of so far. It's here, rightly so, that the heat is on for the candidates as if the primaries are in a few days.

"Yet there is a darkness spreading over part of our society. And we don’t really understand why." Seriously, Mr. Krugman????

from the article

we’re looking at people who were raised to believe in the American Dream, and are coping badly with its failure to come true.

All I can say about those Krugman is writing about is welcome to a POC's "world" (at least economically). IMHO, it was only a matter time after 40 years of stagnant wages and the "Squirrel!" deflections that the RW has effectively tossed out there for the past 30 years to the so-called "white middle America", while their wealthier brethren (peopled by very very few POC) have enjoyed themselves. Of course when those wealthy do "lose it all", they often "end it all" too (adding to that suicide rate)... IMHO, we are seeing these folks in their "bargaining/depression" phase (the "anger" seemed to happen with the election of Barack Obama and denial with Shrub) and maybe they will eventually resolve and accept reality. Sometimes during times like this, the "a tide floats all boats" might apply if the effort to help themselves (in a broad sense) starts to finally happen, we can try to take advantage of that open door as well.
