The 45th Annual Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference that started Wednesday at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center comes at a time of increased national attention to police interaction with minorities and the impact of the Supreme Court decision invalidating part of the Voting Rights Act.
The conference theme this year is With Liberty and Justice for All? with a National Town Hall on Thursday entitled Black Lives: Ending Racial Profiling, Police Brutality and Mass Incarceration.

There are 70 workshops and panels, many led by Civil Rights movement icons, on issues ranging from racial profiling to new ways to climb the corporate ladder.
PS. Melissa Harris-Perry has had a very interesting program this morning on justice reform. She has had Barbara Lee and Ta-Nehisi Coates on, among others. If you haven't been watching, check her program site out for video later when it is posted.
