NASA? Only Whites could make the trip?

Did I miss something?
My eyes told me that everyone pictured was White and when they showed another photo of a huge group of NASA staff members on television, I didn't see one person of color.

Plenty of Asians there. I suspect the ranks of aerospace engineers and such don't include many kestrel91316 Aug 2012 #1

blacks, probably because we still have not made up for decades of educational shortchanging in the community.

There are a number of blacks in NASA and the astronaut corps, but not proportional to their population.

Wish we had more presents at NASA

I recall when the famous AA Artist, Ed Dwight, was to be our first astronaut but then he was turned down.

He would have been spectacular.

When I saw the celebrations of NASA staff, I also noticed that there didn't seem to be any African Americans in the room. Of course, the photos don't show the whole room, and they're not entirely clear. Hopefully, we are producing some young engineers and others that get involved in NASA.

Head geek of NASA.

And he is the first African American to head up this agency thanks to President Obama!
