Baby boomers is for those who don't feel old or will not admit that they are. Just a guess.

2. Yes but definition of 'boomer' pretty broad,

and of course, 'senior' and 'old' varies. REALLY depends on my mood! Attended mini-high school reunion yesterday and by most views (imho!) NONE of us looked 'old!'

and it doesn't depend on age. I remember in my youth, I had a friend age 30- who would groan when he got up out of a chair, and say, "I'm getting old."
I thot that was strange and sad, even way back then.
Now I'm 65, sometimes I groan getting out of a chair, but I also walk an hour a day, and do yoga, and eat (sorta) well, and no longer drink alcohol. and avoid doctors.
I don't try not to be my age, but I don't let it dictate my life. I have a friend my age, who 90% of her talk is about medicare, and social security, and who died, and who is sick.
Yeah, I talk about these things too, they are part of life, but I also am interested in Chavez, and climate, and ecology, and have an active social life which includes people of all ages.
I'm saying this not to brag, but to say that age really IS (in that trite saying) a matter of mind as well as body.

I just came here to look at your topics etc, and I was thinking we might ask Skinner to combine our groups.
I'm the host of the Boomer group. It seems most of our concerns are the same.
Mostly health care!!

I think that this forum is for individuals who are retired or semi retired who have to deal with SSA, Medicare, health care and cost and different approach to life, more sensitive about balance, about vision, hearing and driving.

I would think that some boomers who care for elderly parents or relatives could also get something out of the discussions, or ask questions/opinions of those who have experience

10. It's getting harder and harder...

to run into people who have been around the block more times than me!

An 85-yr-old friend of mine died recently. She was one person I liked to ask advice of - not just bec. she's older, but also bec. she was a smart and capable person.
Now there's no one I'll ask advice of. My 93-yr-old father is smart too--but since we have that father-daughter thing going on - I don't like to ask him for advice.

11. One of the fun things

about having my MIL living with us for the six months before she died in 2005 was that, at the age of almost 94, she thought I was a kid.

In fact, it used to amuse me to no end when she would threaten to take Mr Pipi over her knee when he "misbehaved".

so I think a combine is logical. TO tell the truth, most of the topics in the Boomer group are the same as here.
