But those BCGs were far more stylish than the all-black frames I was issued, way back.

I'm sure the newer replacements will create many more "tens" among the armed forces.

"tortoiseshell brown" numbers, which were equally dorky, and shortly thereafter, the black ones became "cool" for a short period of time.

During WW2/Korea, they were issuing Harry Potter glasses, nearly round numbers with hooks for the ears--I knew a few guys who hung on to those. They actually had a certain amount of pizzazz, in an odd way!

I did not need glasses, other then reading glasses till I turned 50ish. I sort of remember one of my bootcamp (late 70's) buddies by the no-shit name of John Paul Jones wore kinda horn rimmed glasses.

Can't remember if the guys got re-issued glasses in boot.
