LETTER: Government should abandon F-35 jet

I recently read that it will cost an estimated $106 billion to fix all the bridges in this country. I've also read that the U.S. government will spend $1.5 trillion on the new F-35 fighter jet, in which some people have less than full confidence.

This reminds me of some of the comments that were made about the Russian government — spending more on war material rather than its own society and infrastructure, just before the Russian economy collapsed in 1991.

Please, Mr. President, one less war machine — for our society's sake?
