And I'll show exactly why this is mindless a little further in:

It was supposed to be a cool poster to get student gamers to gather for a night of video games and beer at the campus pub.
But it is now a source of controversy even noted on Forbes.com since the Saint Marys University Students Association refused to let the SMUdent Gaming society put up the posters around campus.
We went to get it approved and we were told we werent able to have a gun on the poster, Alexandria Bennett, outgoing president of the campuss gaming society, said Tuesday.
The gun-like object on the poster is actually a Nintendo Zapper, an accessory that allows the player to shoot at the screen, said Bennett, calling it a very iconic item for gamers...
Here comes the 'mindless' part- first look at the accompanying photo:
A sharp-eyed poster on Fark.com noticed this...
Check out the posters on the board behind her.
There's a flyer for a karate club. Hamlet, holding a skull. And Sweeney Todd wielding a straight razor.
But a stupid Nintento light gun is right out.

Imagine if kids went in to class with one of those and they were pissed off at their grades.
Also imagine their class is a tv screen and their teacher is a duck flying in random patterns.
Not so funny now is it!?!?!?!
/well maybe to that damned dog that laughs every time you miss. I hated that dog.

in any number of American colleges/universities as well.

(60,567 posts)The guy was 19 when he was the boyfriend of my then-girlfriend's 17-year-old daughter back in 2005-2006.
When he found out that I had a collection of firearms - All locked up in a sturdy safe, mind you - he became enraged and started hating on me. He passed his hatred on to my girlfriend's daughter, which made life difficult for everyone.
His excuse for being a hoplophobe is that when he was four years old, he saw his older brother, a career criminal with a long history of convictions for drug-related offenses, threatening their father with a handgun. The gun was never fired and nobody was physically injured.
Anyway, I hadn't seen this young man since January 1, 2006 when he threatened me with violence while we were visiting with his parents for the holiday. I left the party and didn't see him until last night.
When he saw me, he became enraged and again threatened me with violence. Several people overheard this, and he left before the bouncer could catch up with him.
His only stated reason for disliking me is that I am a gun owner.
BTW, this young man, now 26 or 27, is working as a courier for a legal services firm. He rides a fixed-gear bike around downtown San Diego. He used to be a barista. No college education, no real ambition, IMO a loser. He was briefly married to his underage sweetheart, who is a mindless potato-chip scarfing "vegetarian."
