A 4-year-old boy died after he took a bullet in the head during a wild shootout on a Bronx basketball court Sunday night, cops and witnesses said.

Two men were also wounded in the gunfire that erupted during a hoops tournament at an E. 165th St. court in Morrisania about 9:40 p.m., police said.

“It was a nice day,” said one witness, who declined to give her name. “People are all out and before you know it — it was Pop! Pop! Pop!”

People scurried around the court to get away from the spray of bullets ...

Scotland Yard said it appeared that a red Citroen Saxo with blacked-out windows had driven past the Blue Ocean fish bar in Barking Road at about 11.30pm on Thursday. Shots were fired from the vehicle towards the teenager and his friends.
The 14-year-old received treatment at an east London hospital, where his condition is said to be non-life-threatening, a Met Police spokesman said.

The 10900 block of Nelson Street, where the murder occurred, was quiet Monday morning with few neighbors walking outside and less wanting to discuss the shooting that occurred in front of a yellow brick house the previous day.

He dropped the gun quickly when officers demanded it, said Lt. Steve Kenney. The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of East MacArthur, just east of I-135 in south Wichita.

The 73-year-old man called 911 and said someone had broken into his car. When officers arrived, he came out with a gun. Kenney said that he quickly obeyed commands to drop the weapon.

Three men have been charged in connection with an early morning shooting in Northwest Washington.

It started about 2:45 a.m. Saturday when two groups of men were arguing at 11th and U streets NW, the heart of the bustling U Street corridor’s nightlife. Gunfire erupted, and two women were shot, each in a leg, police said.

Two D.C. police officers nearby heard the gunshots and saw three men running from the direction of the gunfire toward a Mercedes-Benz, according to court papers. When the men saw police, they slowed down and began to walk casually, according to the documents.

BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police say Timothy Courtois was driving 112mph on the Maine Turnpike with his emergency flashers on, when an officer pulled him over Sunday morning. State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland says they found an AK-47 assault weapon, four handguns and several boxes of ammunition, in Courtois' car.

State Police say that during routine questioning at the stop, Courtois threw some red flags in his behavior. Among them, police say he had purchased the black Ford Mustang he was pulled over in the day after the shooting. Police say Courtois told them he planned to modify the vehicle so it could outrun police in a chase.

Courtois told police he was on his way to Derry, New Hampshire to shoot a former employer. He also said he had been to see The Dark Knight Rises in Saco the night before, with a loaded gun in his backpack.

McCausland says police then searched Courtois's home, at 344 Elm Street in Biddeford, and found several additional guns, a machine gun, and thousands of rounds of ammunition ...

Police are searching for a 23-year-old man accused in the fatal shooting of a woman at his apartment in southwest Houston Monday afternoon.

Edwin Salinas is charged with murder in the shooting death of 36-year-old Erica Venegas at 9400 Coventry Square about 4 p.m., according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said one of Salinas' friends called 911 and said Salinas had told him he had killed Venegas. When patrol officers arrived at the apartment, they found the woman dead inside.

Police said she had gone to visit Salinas, and for some unknown reason, he shot her in the head at close range. The pair had been dating for about five years ...

Residents in the Fairlington area of Arlington County were unsettled by the apparent murder-suicide in their neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, the first homicide in the county in more than two years.

Police have not released the names of the man and woman who were killed or how they died. Neighbors said they had recently moved to an apartment with their two small children.

Police said an adult cousin of one of the victims called 911 after finding their bodies.

A customer of Trading Place Pawn Shop remains in serious but stable condition after an accidental shooting at the business’s firing range.

Monroe Police Department officials confirmed Monday no charges are expected to be filed.

According to the MPD report, officers were dispatched Thursday to the Monroe business after reports of someone being shot accidentally. According to the report, the victim was at the counter filling out a range agreement when another customer entered holding a Springfield Armory .45 caliber automatic handgun. The customer was speaking with an employee about a problem with the weapon and began to “manipulate the slide on the weapon,” according to the report. Angie Reynolds said she and her partner were watching television when they heard what they thought were fireworks. They went outside to see what was going on and realized it was gunfire coming from their detached garage, which was next to the home where the reported shooter, James Kenneth Bailey, 59, of New Castle. He had gone to either hurt his estranged wife or force others to hurt him, police said.

A man was found shot to death in a burning car in Renton Friday morning.

Riddled with bullets, Renton Police said the Mini Cooper was found with its wheels spinning and engine revving as it burned near the parking lot of an apartment complex. Police said they found 16 shell casings at the scene.

The victim has only been identified as a 26-year-old man from Renton. Police said he was also a victim in a separate shooting that took place in May ...

MEXICO, Maine - The victim of a shooting earlier this week in the town of Mexico has died.

State Police say 30-year-old Thomas Joudrey was taken off life support Thursday morning at Maine Medical Center in Portland, after being shot in the head in a mobile home just off Route 2.

Detectives say Joudrey and two other men were at the home at the time of the shooting. One man left the scene before police arrived ...
