Illegal guns obtained by stealing, 'straw buys' at shops

FORT MYERS, Fla. - 15 murders in Fort Myers this year, and police say it's all about guns and drugs.

Amid the rise in violence, officers continue to pull over cars with teenagers inside in possession of illegal firearms.

"There is a trade here locally. They're traded on the street, whether it's for money or drugs," says Sgt. Victor Medico, a supervisor with the Fort Myers Police Department's Violent Crimes Task Force.

The unit's goal is getting those illegal weapons off the street.

No one, (except the NRA and teabaggers, and other gun loving rightwing racist bigots) want firearms in the hands of youth gang members.

and fueled and funded by one of the largest drug cultures in the world. If there were no demand for drugs, there would be no gangs shooting each other over market share.
Here is a question, why didn't teen gangs use guns before the late 1970s? If they did it was rare. Most used knives and tire chains. Gun laws? Before the GCA 68 they could have easily bought one mail order. California's laws were not that much different than Wyoming's. The WOD and drug use patterns changed.
