GREENBAY, WIS. -- An online weapons dealer who sold the handgun used in the Virginia Tech massacre and provided equipment used by killers in two other mass shootings has quietly closed up shop.
Police say Eric Thompson last month abruptly closed his Green Bay, Wis.-based business, TGSCOM Inc., as they probed scores of complaints from customers in nearly every state.
Thomapson made headlines in 2007 when it was revealed he had sold a .22 caliber pistol to Seung-hui Cho, who walked from classroom to classroom at Virginia Tech, killing 32 people.
He was later linked to the sale of two empty magazines and a holster to Stephen Kazmierck, who killed five people in a Northern Illinois University classroom in 2008.

I had a KSG shotgun on preorder (discount price, too) with this store for over 20 months. Just as the manufacturer that makes them starts getting them out the market... the gun shop goes belly up. Now I've gotta find another online gun shop and get on the end of a different 12+ month waiting list. Not only that, but the prices for the gun are about $300 higher than the discount preorders.
And the truth is that TGScom closed it's doors due to fraud allegations. It has nothing to do with "mass murderers" or gun law violations... that's just a bunch of emotional appeal fodder to get people's undergarments in a twist. They are being federally investigated for fraud and there is a lawsuit being levied against them. A TV news report said there are something like over 200 separate complaints filed with the loacl police and BBB. In fact, a coworker of mine was charged for a handgun months ago that he has yet to receive.
Here's another article as to why the dealer ACTUALLY closes up shop:

...The Better Business Bureau issued an alert concerning TGSCOM, Inc. after receiving more than 170 complaints about products not being received, delays in shipments and delivery of goods and advertising and selling issues. Complaints have come in from 43 states. The BBB says company also does business under the names The Gun Source, Midwest Hunters Outlet, and Saltwater Fishing Source, and operates approximately six websites. In addition, the BBB has received 2,258 inquiries on TGSCOM, Inc. in the last year and continues to receive hundreds of calls per week. WTAQ was able to get a hold of Owner and President Eric Thompson who says they closed because of financial issues. Thompson was asked if all the orders that have been paid for have been shipped. With financial issues theres going to creditors and vendors, a lot of things of that nature, and we effort everything we can to make sure with everything that is sold, but if that was the case then the business wouldnt be closing down. Thompson says the store closed last week, and denied that orders have not been fulfilled. The BBB says Green Bay police are looking into pressing criminal charges against Thompson for theft by fraud for intentionally accepting internet orders and payment without providing products...

(7,981 posts)Guilty until proven innocent. If every airline passenger is a potential terrorist then every gun owner is a potential mass murderer.

How about fucking treating all the fucking people like they are innocent, instead of acting like a bunch of fucking right wing POS assholes like your fucking PATRIOT Act, which would be in clear violation of our Charter.

She is absolutely convinced that you and I are right wing trolls.
I guess that means we embarrassed and humiliated her more often than some others in our responses.
That's something to be proud of. I wonder if we get a badge or patch for our range jackets?
I could put it right under my "Gun Religionist" shoulder patch.

(373 posts)Yeah, but we already know that all gun owners are just innocent for the moment criminals.
Their desire for black assault rifles clearly shows how their baser instincts are guiding them towards mass murder.

I don't think he was TS'd?
He just kind of faded out after DU3 started.
