October 2011 - Record-Low 26% in U.S. Favor Handgun Ban

This is 10 months AFTER the Jared Loughner shooting. And the public still believes in people owning handguns.

The DEMS need to stop fighting this and losing votes because of it. And the dems are just giving more power to the nutty right wing NRA!

Seems it has gone far enough.
For the record I own guns and I am alright with the laws as they are now.

2. We should get rid of the '86 ban on newly-manufactured machine guns for civilians.

Legal owners of fully automatic weapons are the most law-abiding gun owners in the country. There's simply no reason not to allow more to be manufactured for civilian ownership other than, "Machine guns are scary!"

While I prefer limits on guns one can own, I don't really care what people do with them at home as long as they don't use them on family.

People are getting fact there are more Zimmermans walking around with them.

10. No, but I believe most would find it difficult to go out without a gun.

So they would still stick one in their pants if guns were prohibited. So they really aren't as law-abiding as some would have us believe.

Just a question, don't get worked up about it, I don't belong to the NRA.

Duh. We are in the last stages of the civilized era in America. This is one indication, along with anti-contraception laws, drastic cuts to schools and hospitals, SYG laws, union-busting, and so forth. I would be willing to bet that support for teachers and unions is also at or near an all time low as well. Congrats to our gun nuts and NRA members. You're the only right-wing fringe group tolerated at DU.
