Stand your ground law not the 'cause' of the Trayvon Martin shooting. Zimmerman kill Trayvon. That's all that matters. If the law goes down the memory hole all the better.

If the media accounts are true, Zimmerman is not protected by the law. If this happened in Tampa or Gainsville, Zimmerman would be in jail right now. If Zimmerman landed up dead, Martin would be protected under the law. As he and the author of the SYG law said, Sanford PD is the problem.

law never existed. Murder is murder. Even a police officer has to turn over his gun and be suspended when he shots someone legally.
Zimmerman was just a creep with a gun. Apparently he is an abusive prick that is lucky enough to have a judge as a father.

I think that he is lucky that he is in Sanford and not Gainsville.
If he is an abusive prick, his dad might have gotten him out of that, since he was not convicted of domestic violence. If he were convicted of domestic violence, the feds would be arresting him for having the gun.
That is why I always encourage DV victims to always press charges, help the DA get a conviction. Even if he does get a couple of months of county jail. If he gets caught with a gun, he gets five to ten years in federal prison.

misinterpreted by most yahoos who routinely carry guns in public. And, most yahoos who carry guns probably celebrated when SYG was enacted in their state.

Fact is, racism (Zimmerman's and/or police's, and maybe 200+ years of this crud); guns; SYG; lack of homeowner's association to control the fool, are all responsible for this.

here's a news flash for you, the only one responsible for this young mans death is Zimmermans, not the gun, not SYG, not racism, not the HOA, just Zimmerman.

that if he had stayed in his car like the dispatcher had told him to, then this young man would still be alive but again the ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE IS ZIMMERMAN, NOT ANYTHING ELSE. And yes I do admire weapons, I admire the craftsmanship that goes into them and how they operate and to cut you off, I am of sound mind and body and I will not take you oft expressed suggestion and leave them at home. You may choose to leave yours at home and I respect that, but don't tell me what to do please.

One day you tell us there are actually fewer and fewer actual gun owners. Just a few of us with a lot more guns.

Now you're saying "why do so many play with them".

Then we hear the all evil and all powerful NRA drove every state in the union but one to allow CCW, even the ones with Dems running the legislature.

Then we hear emphatically that the NRA really has no political power.

You and your fellow traveler gun control people really need to do a better job of coordinating your stories so at least you stop contradicting each other.

The focus should be on Zimmerman. If a side issue like an irrelevant law is allowed to dilute the argument, it presents an opportunity for a deflection of justice.
