Just curious. When is the last time a gun was indicted and sent to prison

to pay for the crime of murder instead of the PERSON who PICKED UP the gun and used it?

In my experience, it's always the person that goes to prison, not the gun. Are there examples out there that contradict my observation?

That's about as close as it gets but I'm sure we have a few posters here who would file charges against Heckler & Koch USP .45 Variation 1 Standard, SN 123456789 for being scary looking, making loud noises, and polluting society with its existence...

than 15-20 years ago, especially in terms of violent crime (see FBI uniform data).

And during this time the number of firearms in civilian hands has increased by over l00,000,000. This is not necessarily a causal relationship, but it does put paid to the bumper-strip: "More guns = More crime."

Gun ownership is not social policy. It is a means of self-defense, against criminals, gangs and tyranny (and there is no guarantee of success). And it is a right.

Besides playing along with your post, I suspect the police confiscate the gun if found -- in essence imprisoning it.

Seriously, I have known people who have done stuff with a gun that they'd never do without it. Lots of so-called law abiding citizens carry guns for intimidation. Someone pisses them off over something relatively minor and they show their gun. It happened to me because of my Obama bumper sticker right before the election. I told the SOB to shoot me, as he slinked off toward his house.

I used to keep a ladder in my car to pull down posters with Confederate flags trying to get the southern swastika back on the state flag. And who can forget a gubnor who was elected because he chased minorities out of his restaurant, usually with a gun, but sometimes with an axe handle.

With a few exceptions, I have found guns and such hatred go together.

His Republican opponent won a plurality of the popular vote, no doubt due to the Democratic vote being split by another write-in candidate. But since Georgia required a majority (it was a three-way race) it fell to the Democrat-controlled state legislature to select a winner from the top two candidates. All of the General Assembly Democrats at the time had been forced to sign a loyalty oath to only select other Democrats in such a situation.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

guns they had seized over a 1 year period. County auctioned them off and he won the bid...

Sure they had been disabled but he sold off the parts and made a small mint. He was even able to order parts and repair a few to sell as complete firearms.

Every county in America has guns imprisoned because they've been victimized by their human owners.

Bad guy has gun. Bad guy shoots and kills someone with said gun. Bad guy is caught. Bad guy is released, gun goes on trial.
Gun found guilty and spends time in prison (a supermax).

Confiscation is not the same as prison time.

It's always the PERSON found guilty.
