govt officials were refusing to do their jobs, so we need to do what LBJ and Kennedy did, send in the Ntl Guard to force them to do their job or remove them so someone else can.

If you know a better way to force these fucking assholes to do their job, I am all ears

by ALL I was only referring to this one issue...i could have phrased it better I guess

On this day in 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson notifies Alabama’s Governor George Wallace that he will use federal authority to call up the Alabama National Guard in order to supervise a planned civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery.

4. In the early 70's we would drive past a NG armory quite often.

Keep in mind that we would pass this armory on our way back and forth from Woodstock - we always questioned who it was that the NG was protecting us from. The answer also seemed to be that they were protecting us from people just like us, our own neighbors. It made me wonder why you would want your neighbor shot (if indeed you realize that is what would happen?)

Which is what makes this so hypocritical. There is no better way assuming the law is to be enforced.

But so too there is no better way than to exercise one's rights to self-defense when confronted by a violent criminal. Yet, you would deny that better way to those who would exercise it.
