According to salon.com Mayor Rahm Emmanuel closed half of Chicago's mental health clinics

This is interesting because the city has also been spending a lot of money fighting in court to keep its gun ban or defending itself from its disingenuous efforts to skirt USSC rulings.

Yet, when statistics for gun deaths are analyzed over half of gun deaths are from suicides -- people in need of mental health care.

Is it really about saving lives or is it about control?

It did everywhere else in the U.S. when they closed mental health facilities.

He doesn't want law-abiding people to own guns, so he pushes the failed Chicago model. Like you said, it's more about control than safety.

He apparently hates teachers, unions, working people of all stripes, and public schools, but he's happy to see millions go to charter schools and private "educators." Now he wants to cut money for mental health care, which will end up costing the city big time in the long run in the form of homelessness and crime.

Why would anyone vote for this guy?
