Target stores may stop gun carriers

Target appears to be moving toward a ban on people carrying guns in its stores.

The store chain has been convinced by gun control groups that there should be an order which would stop anyone, apart from a law enforcement officer, from carrying a firearm in a Target store.

Online petitions demanding a prohibition on people who openly carry guns in Target stores were launched last Tuesday. By Tuesday night 10,000 signatures had been gleaned.

The group, Moms Demand Action, has released a press brief to say gun extremists have been walking through Target stores to promote an agenda of intimidation.

the guy with the pepper spray was a "gun toter" and "gun nut". He was simply respecting the "gun free zone" sign.

7. I'm guessing some see this as a sort of victory for the Moms movement.

Me, I don't feel one bit safer.

I shop at Target, never saw a gun, and I doubt that anyone who wants to commit violence is going to let the store's policy prevent them from those bad acts.

If anything, they might target Target and their customers just out of anger.

It's all silly, if you ask me-- Open Carry idiots, the Bloomberg Moms "movement" (an apt term), and people thinking that this is meaningful reform.

Humans have a long way to go.

IMHO.

9. Victory is a label on designer jeans. If one wants a weapon there is concealed-carry.

I don't support general open-carry unless a state (like CA?) outlaws concealed-carry. The law on open-carry should allow for reasonable carry between shop/home & vehicle, like in most states, and an affirmative defense in emergencies off-property.

If ye love peace of mind better than having that redefined for you, the tranquility of personal defense than the animated contest for media coverage - stay home from the MDA protest and ventureth not to Target.
