Why do regulars to RKBA respond to spammers?

I see complaints about posters in this group spamming and not personally engaging in their own threads, so why do group regulars participate in those threads at all? Why not repost a subject if it looks like a good topic, and let the spammers thread drop like a rock?

This has been going on since DU2.

I understand and respond to maybe 50% I talked to our host on this and agree it ends up just making this poster look like a fool in in the long run.

Sometimes it gives me some laughs on what gets posted

production boilerplate generated by political hacks and talking heads which sometimes deserves an answer regardless of its origin or who posted it. The bulk of dialogue surrounding the gun debate is spam anyway.

If the spammer could produce better spam he would merit more responses.

I realize that members who hold more conservative views on guns may be uncomfortable with the news items I choose to share on DU. Many times I have requested that those members simply put me on ignore, yet they continue to post thinly-veiled personal attacks in an attempt to derail any discussions.

of this group that you always ignore but you are great a banning people in your group that you say violate the SOP.

Discuss gun politics, gun control laws, the Second Amendment, the use of firearms for self-defense, and the use of firearms to commit crime and violence.

can you say hypocrite

I really don't want SM blocked, his threads are entertaining if nothing else.

shows how shallow they are over there that they have to block so many. They are scared of actual discussion. It is the hypocrisy of that host over there that blocked you for violating the SOP when he does the same thing here every day. I just do not know how he justifies it.

he is getting up there in blocked numbers again.

actually discussing are derailing. Because the discussion presents an opposing viewpoint.

One sided "discussions" are not discussions. These anti-gun troll droppings are not "news" by any stretch of the imagination. They are propaganda. All manner of lies, inaccuracies and hyperbole that are posted for like minded haters to laud, salute and cheer as truth.

Sometimes when I see the boilerplate rhetorical anti-gun tirades that have been cut and pasted from low information blogs, articles and crap holes on the internet I feel obligated to discuss. The poster is aware of the weak ground that the posts are based in and hence refuses to support them beyond the OP - but that does not deter me from saying my piece.

But you are correct - some of that stuff is truly mindless drivel - troll droppings - ranting spam that does not warrant any kind of response.
