(14,733 posts)Is this supposed to be a 'pro' 2A group, or an 'anti' 2A group, or is it more nuanced than that? On the last blog I regularly posted on, the 'RKBA' group was vehemently pro-2A, and would have excoriated people for a post such as this one. What's the group for on DU?

(17,502 posts)liberals and Democrats come in two flavors, pro-2A and "anti 2A".

(18,318 posts)were posted. Then, the controller/prohibitionists demanded a "safe haven" where only controller/prohibitionist pronouncements are tolerated; some 30-odd pro 2A Democrats were quickly banned from "Bansalot," the nickname for that group. Further, the TOS in the General Discussion Forum is virtually dead letter as anti 2A posts regularly appear there, but most all pro 2A posts are quickly "hidden."
Through all this, the group you are in has remained open to All views, and must put up with some rather vulgar insults. Any "pro" Original Posts must be made here. As Malcolm X said some 50 yrs. ago, DU has become a "controlled show."

(17,502 posts)But since the "anti" side has no rational or logical arguments, I guess cartoons are the best they have.
This post at Ethics Alarms, although it is talking about a different cartoon, says it best

(6,185 posts)That seems to be what passes for "activism" now.
Well that, saying things in the echo chamber like "the tide is turning" or "the backlash cometh" repetitively and waiting to see what Bloomberg will pay for next.

(6,185 posts)It's like that other big lie, "Let's have a dialog about gun control" when what they really mean is "shut up while we accuse and demean you".
And, since nobody ever visits your safe haven, you have to come up here to find anyone that will even bother with you.
OK, as long as you're here, let's discuss it, what gun laws do you propose that would actually prevent another Sandy Hook?
CreekDog
(46,192 posts)are your other posts that unfactual?
DonP
(6,185 posts)No, usually my posts are usually far more pointed
Like pointing out that gun control supporters are not only increasingly irrelevant to the discussion, since they can't get jack or shit passed, but with their "purity" tests, a potential threat to the mid-terms and holding the Senate.
But you have fun while you're up here and do let us know when your "activism" delivers any results.

The cartoons he posts are just because he likes us, and those push-polls he posts are because hes genuinely interested in our point of view.
He cares about us, and wants nothing but the best for us.

And they always like to invoke children. I wonder, if the firearms temperance league ever get their way, will the unintended consequences of a firearms ban cause the same degree of crime, violence and destruction of lives as the prohibition of alcohol.
