(2,708 posts)Bain's ccw poll, 8am, june 19,2013:
1 I do not support concealed carry 74 (34%)
2 I support very limited concealed carry with greater training and testing than currently required 18 (8%)
3 I support may issue concealed carry 1 (0%)
4 I say f*** guns and anything to do with them. 21 (10%)
5 I support shall issue concealed carry 82 (38%)
6 I support universal concealed carry, meaning no permit necessary. 7 (3%)
7 I support broadening concealed carry rights but imposing greater training and testing that currently required 13 (6%)
decoy claims ccw on demand support: 15+13+0+77+7= 112 (~1am jun19)
decoy claims ccw on demand opposition: 72+19= 91 Basic math
I think you are wrong to include option #2 (very limited concealed carry) as concealed carry support; it is rather a limitation & opposition to concealed carry, rather than supportive. I considered this option more restrictive than 'may issue'. I don't know but a few of this option's respondents but they seem to be pro gun control.
You can't possibly include 'may issue' as supportive of carrying concealed (even tho it gets only 1, my recent vote for it). May issue is in 7 GUNCONTROL states now, & is subject of another progun thread to declare it 'unconstitutional' in violation of 2ndA, so you can't argue it both ways - it is a 'restriction' on carrying concealed.
Thus it should be (updated ~8am june19,2013, approx 7hrs later):
ccw support: 82 + 7 + 13 = 102 = ========== 47.2%
ccw opposition: 74 + 18 + 1 + 21 = 114 ==== 52.8%
That's parity in my book, but the slight edge goes to ccw opposition. Does not take into account the intensity factor either that gunfans possess.

Dang it's changing by the hour, am I my brother's keeper?
But OK I'll update with oneshooters new data:
I do not support concealed carry 79 (35%)
I say fuck guns and anything to do with them. 23 (10%)
I support very limited concealed carry with greater training and testing than currently required 19 (8%)
I support may issue concealed carry 1 (0%)
I support broadening concealed carry rights but imposing greater training and testing that currently required 14 (6%)
I support shall issue concealed carry 85 (37%)
I support universal concealed carry, meaning no permit necessary. 7 (3%)
So the new figures are: oppose ccw on demand: 122 = 53.5% (up from 52.8)
Support ccw on demand: 106 =============== 46.5% (down from 47.2)
spread up to 7 pts from 5.6.
Thanks for the heads up, oneshooter, but I'd'a thunk you'd'a been a progunner.
