(431 posts)Aren't semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines necessary for home defense?
Good thing that the thiugs weren't armed with Uzis or grenade launchers.......

No one said one needed a semi auto rifle with (please define high capacity? The political definition or what the gun was designed for?), the issue is freedom of choice, which last I checked is a liberal value.

The Constitution says I have a right to arms. It doesn't say I can't have a nuclear weapon!
I'm a proponent of the 2nd Amendment. I don't give a crap about how many children are killed or how much danger I bring to the community.
What? Are you some kind of communist?

(17,502 posts)if you have a couple of hundred million, check out the law. Besides, I think nukes would be "ordnance" instead of "arms" in those days. What a nuke has in common with a not very powerful rifle kind of escapes me.

A personal firearm is a much better choice, logistically speaking.

(431 posts)I hope you're not one of those trigger lock or gun safe freaks.
2nd Amendment doesn't mandate that I give a crap about anyone but myself.
Screw safety!!!

(18,750 posts)That silly Non-proliferation Treaty has to be taken into account...
Look on the bright side, defense of nuclear weapons is the littleknown seventh situationin use of deadly force. If you are looking for excuses to shoot, it is the best one legally.

(12,072 posts)Arms are discretely targeted, meaning that you aim it at individual humans or individual animals. We routinely get new people in here who think they are being smart leaving common sense behind and bringing up nukes.
