Travis Expo center gun show in jeopardy (Austin, TX)

http://www.kxan.com/dpp/news/local/austin/travis-expo-center-gun-showsin-jeopardy

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Gun shows at the Travis County Expo Center are in jeopardy after a concerned citizen raised issues with the events during the December 21 st county commissioner meeting.

Ed Scruggs voiced concerns about using a county-run, public facility for the use of nine Saxet Trade Shows in 2013.

“The fact this is happening on taxpayer supported property was shocking to me,” Scruggs said to KXAN.

His comments during the meeting have led to an agenda item for the January 8 th meeting that calls for commissioners to discuss their contract with Saxet.

If his neck of the woods are anything like mine, guns is something liberals and conservatives have in common. My home state's Democratic Party's platform defines owning a gun as a civil right.

Don't really need anything at today's panic prices but it'd be nice to look around.

I could use a couple more k of 223/556 to feed the AR's but I'd dare say there will be zero on hand there.

Last show I went to was a great one. They had one company set up that would build you a custom AR upper to whatever spec you wanted while you watched. Pick out the barrel, bolt, gas block, flash hider, bolt ect... it was fun to watch.

I want this to happen everywhere. With enough complaints from the People it may just get somewhere. Here's to hoping.

Austin is reputed to be the most liberal texas city, altho maybe 'least conservative' might be better put.
Dunno really, only thing of possible interest in texas would be the alamo, due being miiltary history fan; well I guess also, texas/brazos was home of quanah, warring commanche chief, later americanized.

You won't be hearing any groups singing 'gimme back my bullets', on 'austin city limits', any time soon.

and my Ruger PSS .357 there as well. Plenty of counter culture folks & minorities go. Lousy food, though, and none nearby.

I don't think Ed's plan will go anywhere.
