He came to me in February 2006 from Green Bay Wisconsin. I was able to get him flown down here from a rescue group on my company plane.(I'm just a peon, but the CEO was cool and a dog lover and brought him down for me).
He was part of a pack of four. He had three brothers precede him, in Baylor bear and Simon. I'm sure he's up there barking and chasing them now. my heart hurts.

I would love to post a picture of him if I knew how.

I hope the good memories you have will ease the sadness and Benji will live in your heart forever.

terribly hard. I have had to learn through more than one experience that it will get better, that I will always miss them but that I will, eventually, learn to manage that loss and the pain that comes with it.

What helped me the most was to remember the things they tried to show me, like diving off into a golf course lake while on a walk.Or the need to alert on the statue of the buffalo by the state capitol every time we went by, even after we stopped and tried to make clear that it was just metal. I still lost it every few days, but that got less frequent with time, and now I mostly just remember how they tried their damndest to teach me that we have our work and play priorities completely screwed up, and try to do better.

We will have some good thoughts for you, and hope it gets easier soon.
