Related: About this forummy cat likes to sit on my lap with her cold wet nose
touching my hand or arm. Now I'm used to cat slime--being sneezed on, drooled on, etc. But why is she doing it? To keep her nose warm, or because she loves me? She's usually purring when she does it. She isn't on my lap much, but just comes to have a little lap time once a day or so. She's a Maine Coon Mix we think--at any rate a longhair mix.

(20,763 posts)Our ornjboi has "affection fits" when he decides we NEEEEEEED to know he appreciates his staff. He hops onto a shoulder, drapes himself against the neck, cold nose and all, and nuzzles until the pets come. Then he squirms in ecstasy until he's done, at which point he offers a game of "CHOMP!" in the hopes that this time he'll find a taker, which he never does, jumps down, and goes on his way.
It's a kitteh thang.
helpfully,
