Just in case, though, animals don't look at the sun in general. Safety issues are more about excitement/anxiety from their humans.

2. Exactly. Few look up. Occasionally some (usually those scared by thunderstorms) get nervous when the sky darkens

but most just go into "nighttime" or nap mode. Livestock not on pasture continuously might go back to the barn early.

Now earthquakes are a different matter. Many/most pet and domesticated animals will react.
