You should be grateful to be rid of the rat. Although I agree it was kinda gross.

(17,048 posts)by brushing their mouths atleast once every couple of weeks. I have a doggy toothbrush and doggy toothpaste. I hold them on the kitchen counter and brush away!
Never had to have Quincy's teeth cleaned ever! Saves money and promotes good oral health too! Is it easy? Um, NO! LOL!

(18,219 posts)Actually, no you shouldn't try. I have tried. It isn't happening. My kitty has this horrid gum/mouth disease and it was recommended, but that was the one of many things I have to do that just can't be done. I came out of it in tatters.
I never thought of that when you said you washed the mouth out. LOL.....all I pictured was my childhood experiences with bad words.

Yeah, I have a 15 year old kitteh diva and any brush near her would result in a nightmare!
I was so disgusted by the whole thing, I guess brushing her teeth made ME feel better...not so sure if it killed the RAT germs though!
